The shopper journey

How a verified buyer is made

The shopper sees your offer, buys at full price in store, uploads the receipt, answers a short survey and gets paid. The dashboard counts the result.

How it works

The same six steps, as a left-to-right carousel. Slide through one at a time.

Step 1 · You

Target the right shoppers

Reach who you want, through channels you already control.

Step 2 · You

Promote an offer worth signing up for

Full cashback (a free trial) or 50% back (a BOGO). They sign up with phone verification.

Step 3 · The shopper

They buy in store, at full price

In any retailer you choose. Shelf price is never cut, margin stays intact.

Step 4 · The shopper

They upload the receipt and answer a short survey

SeeGap verifies the SKU, retailer, date and price. The survey is captured at the moment of purchase.

Step 5 · The shopper

They get paid

Cashback lands via Revolut, PayPal or bank transfer.

Step 6 · Back to you

You get the proof

Verified purchase count, first-party data, survey insight and channel attribution. Each one lands somewhere you use it: the sell-in pack, your CRM, the next NPD brief, the media plan.

Use cases

One mechanism, five applications

The verified purchase stays the same. What you point it at changes.

Drive verified trial for a new SKU, capture SKU-specific feedback, and build an owned audience you can re-engage, all from the launch media you already run.

New product launch journey: a shopper sees a cashback offer on Instagram and heads in-store, buys at full shelf price and uploads the receipt for verification of SKU, retailer and date, answers three questions at claim, and the verified trial count, new-to-brand rate and survey responses land in the month-four listing review pack. FAQ

Questions brands ask

The short version of how receipt-verified cashback works, and what you get from it.

What is receipt-verified cashback?

You promote a cashback offer through a channel you already run. A shopper buys your product at full price in any shop, uploads the receipt, and gets the cashback once it is verified. You keep the verified purchase, the buyer's consented data, and a short survey on why they bought.

How is this different from a coupon or a discount?

The reward only exists after a full-price purchase, so shelf price is never cut and margin stays intact. It is funded from your marketing budget, not your trade budget, and it is a full or half-price reward to drive trial rather than a small percentage off.

Which retailers does it work in?

Any retailer you sell in. There is no integration with Tesco, Dunnes, SuperValu or Lidl. Receipts come in from wherever the shopper bought, and we verify them.

How do you know which channel drove the sale?

Every channel gets its own campaign link, so each receipt is tied to the source that drove it. You get a cost per verified purchase by channel, plus a question at upload that captures the channel the buyer says triggered them.

What data do we get, and who owns it?

You own all of it from day one: a verified purchase count, consented first-party records, and survey answers from real buyers, ready for your CRM and your next media plan.

How are receipts verified and is fraud kept out?

AI reads each receipt and confirms the SKU, retailer, date and price, with manual review for edge cases. Sign-ups are phone-verified, duplicate and synthetic claims are flagged, and only verified claims are ever paid.

How does pricing work?

You pay a platform fee plus a fee per verified redemption, so cost is tied to outcomes. You pre-fund a cashback budget, we draw down only as claims are approved, and unused budget is refunded.

How does the SMS retargeting work?

Every buyer who claims opts in and shares their phone number. SeeGap captures those contacts through the platform, ready for SMS retargeting. SMS carries a 96% open rate, making it one of the most direct ways to bring a verified buyer back for a second purchase.
